The U. S. Forest Service (USFS) is soliciting a proposal from qualified vendors for five (5) Type 3H (Heavy) fire engines, body only configuration, to be installed on Government-furnished 4X4 cab and chassis. Scope includes chassis modifications and preparation, installation of the body, fire pump, 750-gallon water tank, warning lights, required graphics package, and all components necessary to deliver a complete operational unit. Apparatus must meet Forest Service national standard specifications, including compliance with NFPA 1900 unless otherwise specified. Proposal shall include delivery of each unit and on-site familiarization training. The contract will be in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.1 - Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, in conjunction with FAR Subpart 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The resulting contract award will be a 100% Total Small Business Set - aside, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. The anticipated date of solicitation will be approximately 15 business days after the date of this posted pre-solicitation.
